Issue with Spectre Simulation in ADE Explorer (Virtuoso IC23.1-64b.ISR11.29)

Hello,

I am using Cadence Virtuoso IC23.1-64b.ISR11.29 and trying to simulate a simple circuit in ADE Explorer with Spectre as the simulation tool. However, when I hit "Run," I get the following error:

ERROR (EXPLORER-1612): Simulator not in path for the following tests:
123_series_parallel_1
Make sure to have simulator in path for these tests before running simulations or disable these tests.

I checked for the spectre.dat file, but it is not available in my Cadence folder. Running which spectre in the terminal also does not return a valid path.

Because I couldn't find spectre.dat, I have not set the required environment variables in my .cshrc file. Could this be the cause of the issue? If so, what environment variables should I set, and how can I correctly configure them?

How can I resolve this issue? Do I need to install additional components or set up my environment differently?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

You need to download and install Spectre. And then configure your environment to make sure the executable is found via your PATH environment variable.
