Nonlinear static block in tabular form

MikeA
MikeA 5 months ago

Hi,

I am looking for a block to implement a nonlinear input/output relationship where the transfer law is given in tabular form.

Is it possible within the space of AnalogLib and other primitive components?

I believe it to be possible using the $table_model and a Verilog-A block, but I'm just curious if there isn't a direct way within "Spectre".

Thanks!

Michele

There's pvcvsp which is polynomial voltage-controlled voltage source (with variable numbers of inputs) but not sure that's what you want. Given the flexibility there is with $table_model, I don't think there's anything more direct - but I'd question why you don't just create a Verilog-A model to do this - it's not difficult!

    Hi Andrew,

pvcvsp would need an underlying polynomial function to describe the I/O relationship.

The $table_model is absolutely perfect - that's what I used; I was just wondering whether there is a similar primitive directly in SPECTRE.

    Thanks!
