Latency to Connect License server

When I try to run simulation , though the simulation is completed but there is latency to find the license server  and wait time is quite substantial

feature basis and across each server.

I'm not sure what you're checking there because you appear to be checking for an obsolete license version, and the time shown in that log has no difference between the test start and end times, so presumably it's less than one second?

In general, I would suggest that you:

    1. setenv CDS_LIC_ONLY  (this means that it will not look at $LM_LICENSE_FILE as well as $CDS_LIC_FILE), which cuts down the possible license servers
    2. Run "spectre +lorder MMSIM" (if you have the multi-mode simulation - i.e. the Virtuoso_Multi_mode_Simulation license feature). This will stop it trying to check for the specific individual product licenses first, and if you have multiple license servers it might be checking them all for a failure

    1) Thank you Andrew , I have used this one line command

    setenv CDS_LIC_ONLY

on the top of my source me file

    that worked.

But I am bit curious , is that mean there is no use of  $LM_LICENSE_FILE as well as $CDS_LIC_FILE?

    2) we have  multi-mode simulation - i.e. the Virtuoso_Multi_mode_Simulation license feature, could you please elaborate  how I can use it?

    Hi Tarique,

You will still need LM_LICENSE_FILE for using any non-Cadence applications. By setting the variable CDS_LIC_ONLY, Cadence applications will check the license servers defined in CDS_LIC_FILE only (by default, both CDS_LIC_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE are read).

The argument "+lorder MMSIM" suggested by Andrew does precisely what you asked for. It will instruct Spectre to look for Virtuoso_Multi_mode_Simulation licenses and skip looking for any other individual product licenses.

    Regards,
    Saloni
