Cannot Copy Variable to Other Tests

MM202507017815

It seems that in my Cadence version (IC23.1), I cannot copy a variable from a test to another in ADE Assembler, if the variable does not exist in the new test.

So I can only copy it if there's already a variable in the new test, which will be overwritten with the new value. Otherwise, nothing happens.

Is this a known issue?

Best regards,
Mahdi

    Mahdi,

It’s not an “issue” as the menu title makes it pretty clear that it copies the value rather than the variable. However, I think it’s a pretty reasonable enhancement request and if I recall correctly the request exists already so you might want to contact customer support and request a duplicate on your behalf.

The good news is that you can do this via the multi test editor (this can be accessed via one of the pulldown menus - apologies, I can’t remember the name as I’m not working this week). In this you can see the variables as part of the test and then use the right mouse menu to copy the variable to all or selected other tests.
