Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance

Dear All,

Hi, I am running into an issue in my Cadence netlist simulation. It looks like below:

Begin Incremental Netlisting Sep 1 14:58:41 2025
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance "V16" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance "V3" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreVPWLSource instance "V5" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreVPWLSource instance "V4" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance "V6" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance "V2" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
Netlist Error: Could not find netlist procedure:SpectreFNPairs instance "V8" in cell-view "UMC65_TEST" "tspc_testing_time_det" "schematic"
End netlisting Sep 1 14:58:42 2025
ERROR (OSSHNL-514): Netlist generation failed because of the errors reported above. The netlist might not have been generated at all, or the generated netlist could be corrupt. Fix the reported errors and regenerate the netlist.

Can anyone help me to sort this out?

Thanks in advance

    Anuradha,

These are (presumably) functions that should be provided via the libInit.il of the library containing the instances. They sounds like voltage sources, but these are not Cadence-provided sources (the function names are not ours). I would check whether these V2, V8 sources etc are from some custom library and if there's some SKILL code or context file that is not being loaded? Maybe the library was copied or renamed and so the associated code is not being loaded?

You should contact whoever provided that library.

    Andrew

Mmm.... this could be due to the inclusion of a wrong library.

How does the typical path to the analogLib in Cadence package look like ? May be I am sourcing a wrong library.

    i.e. /remote/labware/packages/cadence/ic/23.10.060/tools.lnx86/dfII/etc/cdslib/basic ??

    Thanks.

The best approach is to use this in your cds.lib :

    DEFINE analogLib $(inst_root_with:tools/dfII/bin/virtuoso)/tools/dfII/etc/cdslib/artist/analogLib

this will pick up analogLib from the same installation as the Virtuoso you are using.

Perhaps you're using some modified analogLib set up for a different simulator?

    Andrew
