Problem with ADE Explorer and spectre_encrypt (IC 21.1 ISR22)

Hi,

I’m running ADE Explorer with IC 21.1.0.854 ISR22 and my simulations keep failing. The netlisting phase completes, but when the simulation starts, it crashes with the following error:

free(): invalid pointer
Aborted
spectre_encrypt -all -i .../ade.scs -o .../ade_e.scs

I have observed that:

• ADE always tries to generate ade_e.scs using spectre_encrypt.
• In ISR22, spectre_encrypt fails, so the simulation never runs.
• I don’t see any option in Setup → Environment Options to disable netlist encryption.
• Running the plain input.scs manually with Spectre doesn't work too

So my questions are:

• Is there a way to disable netlist encryption in ADE Explorer in IC 21.1 ISR22?
• Has this spectre_encrypt crash been fixed in a later ISR or IC release?
• Is there any official Cadence workaround/patch for ISR22?
