about cadence virtuoso guidance manual problem

Hello everyone, I’m a freshman using Virtuoso. Since relying on people around me isn’t always possible, I’ve tried to find the software User Guide, but the only result is the web page that appears when pressing F1 in Virtuoso; that page doesn’t actually give me the enough workspace or screen I need. I’ve turned to this Cadence community to search for an online menu, but I’m still running into trouble. Could someone help me with this small issue? Thank you very much.

BTW,because I'm using virtuoso in VMware linux, not in the real OS linux, so "F1 version" menu is really depressed me

I don't really understand what you mean by "give me the enough workspace or screen I need", or 'so "F1 version" menu is really depressed me'.

What version of the software are you using (Help->About will tell you this) - by the way, the Help menu in every window gives you a list of relevant topics, which will launch cda (Cadence Doc Assistant) for that topic (it's a tool called cdnshelp in older versions), You can run that also in the UNIX terminal (either "cda" or "cdnshelp" depending on the version).

If your screen is not big enough to see the docs, it's unlikely to be big enough to run Virtuoso, so I assume that's not the problem.

The documentation is also available via http://ask.cadence.com (as a student you should be able to get a lightweight login which gives you access to content but limits you from submitting support cases) - it will be under Resources->Product Manuals. You can do that from a Windows or Mac machine.
