LVS Warning: “Unattached port label” for PLUS/MINUS on layer ind11_text — can’t locate device

Hi everyone,

I’m running LVS on my PDN mesh layout (GPDK045-based design for a digital IC project), and I keep getting the following warnings:

Warnings and errors of connectivity for cell "resm11_CDNS_762251924920"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[WARN] Unattached port label:
Label "PLUS" on layer 1063(ind11_text) at (3.000, -0.110)

[WARN] Unattached port label:
Label "MINUS" on layer 1063(ind11_text) at (3.000, 1.110)

I used resm11 to isolate power ports on the same net to connect to package parasitics.

I understand that this means the label text is not attached to any metal, but I’m having trouble actually finding these labels in my layout. I tried zooming to the reported coordinates and searching for “PLUS” and “MINUS,” but nothing obvious shows up.

Here’s some context:

  • Tool: Cadence Virtuoso Layout Suite (for IC23.1)

  • LVS: PVS (using gpdk045)

  • Design: PDN mesh layout (no inductors explicitly added)

  • The warning layer name is ind11_text, which I assume relates to the inductor PCell layers in GPDK045 but I havent used any inductors.

Questions:

  1. Could these labels be leftover text objects from a deleted or flattened inductor PCell?

  2. Is there a recommended way to highlight or purge all unattached port labels in Virtuoso?

  3. If these are false remnants, is it safe to simply delete the labels from the database?

Any guidance on how to properly locate and remove these ghost labels (or confirm which device they belong to) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ram

    This might help...

SKILL: Is there a way to flag labels which are 'floating', when the origin is not on top of any same-layer shape?
