*Error* lookup: Given symbol name is longer than 255 characters

I am getting an "*Error* lookup: Given symbol name is longer than 255 characters" message when trying to copy a constraint from one hierarchy level to another in Schematic XL (Virtuoso Studio IC23.1).
The source of the issue is that I have many resistors in a parallel array. The resistors are in lower levels of hierarchy from the cell to which I am trying to copy the constraint. I need to match parameters, orientation, and want to create them as a modgen. Much of the array size is due to expansion of bussed resistors (e.g. "r1<7:0>" expands to "r1<7>" ... "r1<0>").
Is there a way to change the symbol name? Is there another workaround?

Any help would be appreciated.
