Recommendations for an optimal server setup

AnalogAvenger

Dear Cadence forum folks,

I am in charge of the administration of our IC Design environment (Virtuoso, Spectre, Genus, Innovus, Xcelium, ...) at a university. We are currently looking into upgrading our server hardware setup (CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD ...) and would like to have a fluent experience in doing iterative edits and simulations for up to 20 parallel users. Corner simulations or similar easy-to-parallelize stuff should also be possible, but also quick lengthy post-layout simulations are a priority.

I guess that it is diffcult to recommend specific hardware, but what are the specifications and constraints we should look out for when planning our setup?

Thanks!
