Import a GDS File: Xstream Failed

Hello, i am a new user of cadence. I am trying to import a GDS file but I got an error.

I am running Cadence Version 6.1.3 07/31/20 , I have a technology file attached. I have created  a new library and then I select File-Import.

If I select VHDL, Spice, DEF, LEF it works; the import window appears. If I select Stream instead in the CIW I can read:

 "  XStream/strminui is running (PID = ipc:1 )...

XStream failed "

and  nothing happens.

What can I do to import my GDS file?

Thanks

 Gianluca

    Hi Gianluca

As a workaround, you can run strmin cmd in your working directory in a terminal window. : )

    terminal>strmin -library ABC -strmFile /path/myFile.gds

    Best regards
