How to calculate length of polygon

Hi,

How to calculate length of a metal whose objType is "polygon"?

Also how to find space between to metal lines which are polygons?

What does the length of a polygon mean? The length of the perimeter? The maximum edge length? The maximum side of a bounding box which covers the polygon? Your question in itself is meaningless, so you probably need to ask something more precise.

Measuring the space between things is not that straightforward - you can check if a minimum is not being vioated (this is what DRC engines do), but measuring the actual distance is a bit harder unless you use some kind of scan-line approach, maybe. Again,is it the minimum space you want, or the maximum space, or the space in a certain region - could be lots of things.

I expect you're making some assumptions about the data, but you've not explained what those assumptions are.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi

for your first question, first try to get the area of polygon, I used shoelace formula in example then divide that by the square of the width assuming you have uniform width. (I am guessing that this is what you mean)

for your second question I think it is too vague to make a guess as andrew mentioned.

     best regards
