A problem with menu

Renee
Renee over 14 years ago

Hi,

 I tried to insert a menu item in the CIW window by defining a procedure as below:

  procedure(build_menu()

   ...

   hiInsertBannerMenu(hiGetCIWindow()

                                 'testMenuID

                                 hiGetNumMenus(hiGetCIWindow())

                                )

...

)

In the .cdsinit file, I wrote:

load("build_menu.il")

build_menu()

I am sure that the build_menu.il file is loaded, but I have to type build_menu() in the CIW window again to insert the menu item to that window.

What I want is that this menu is added automatically every time I start icfb. How can I do that ?

Thanks in advance!

Lei

    Hi Lei,

    Call ciwMenuInit() before the hiInsertBannerMenu. This will force the standard CIW menus (which are created from a menus file) to get created at that point. Normally this is deferred until the end of the .cdsinit, so your menu gets overwritten by the standard menus otherwise.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
