custom ruler?

I would like to have a more visible ruler in the layout editor. What would be nice is to have the background black out while having whatever color for the ruler. Does anyone have any idea on how this can be done?

thanks, Mark

    You can change the color/line thickness of the ruler by using the Display Resource Editor for the hilite drawing4 Cadence system layer.

    CIW->Tools->Display Resource Manager
    The press Edit and look for the hilite drawing4

     Hi Mark,

    In addition to what Derek has said about the colour and thickness of the ruler, I just wanted to say that the "background" cannot be changed (wouldn't that obscure the thing you were trying to measure against?).  In IC614 the ruler features make it much easier to measure objects and see those measurements.  For example, with the appropriate "smart snapping" turned on, you can easily measure something and then you can select and move the ruler to somewhere where it is easier to read, so this might be one way to achieve what you are looking for.

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.
