    Hi Gopika,

    I think you could use 'schVIC'.  Try something like that:

    cid = dbOpenCellViewByType(libName cellName "symbol" nil "a")

    schVIC(cid)

    dbSave(cid)

    dbClose(cid)

    Regards, Danilo

    Thanks Danilo for your quick reply.

    Could you help me in following:

    Is the following 3 statements give similar result:

    1. dbCheck(cid) & dbSave(cid)

    2.schVIC(cid) & dbSave(cid)

    3. schHiVICAndSave()

    Note: in 3rd statement we can't give cid but it takes the current window id.

    Regards

    Gopika

    Hi Gopika,

    The first is checking the integrity of the database (rarely needed unless you are seeing strange behaviour) and not doing a cross-view check.

    The second and third are equivalent, with the second being for batch operation (doesn't necessarily need a window), whereas the third is an interactive command which works on the current window.

    The cross-view check is not strictly required on a symbol, but it does tend to spot potential errors sooner rather than later.

    Regards,

    Andrew
