TechFile: Is there a way to combine techfile, beside using incremental method?

Hi,

Is there a way to combine 2 techfile, besides using incremental techfile. I have 2 techfiles, which i use incremental method to consolidate 2 techfile into one. Example: techlibA and techLibB, and techLibB is reference to techLibA. I managed to get all infomation and layers in techlibB including info in techLibA. But if i try to retrieve infomation from techlibA, i cant get the tech info that i store in techLibB.

Is the any way i can get all techInfo, no matter i use techfile from techLibA, or techlibB?

Thanks

Hi How, As you have discovered, an Incremental tech file setup does not merge or consolidate the technology files, it provides a way to add to an existing "master" technology (or otherwise modify or override parts of it) without needing to edit it directly. To consolidate two technology files I would pick one as being the master and add the other technology file to it. This can be tricky, especially if there is overlap between the two. I have done this recently and although there was not too much overlap it was not too pleasant an experience! Good luck. Lawrence.
