deleting banner menu item

hi,

 Is there any posibility to delete layout/schem banner menu item by name (or something distinctive) instead of by it's relative position number? Also it would be nice if the solution could work both for IC6 and IC5.10.4***

many thanks. :D

    It's easy enough to write one  - this should work in all versions.

    procedure(MYdeleteBannerMenuByName(winId name)
      let(((ind 0))
        exists(pulldown hiGetBannerMenus(winId) eq(pulldown name) || ind++)
        hiDeleteBannerMenu(winId ind)
      )
    )

    So MYdeleteBannerMenu(hiGetCIWindow() 'ciwFileMenu) will delete the File menu in the CIW.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

     Thanks a lot for your reply. I tried the script but it dosnt work for me as I expect, because It always remove the second menu item (position 1) It seems that the script  only increment ind once. But I already got the Idea so I also worte one, I used the function member and compare the result from the original banner menu list to identify the position of the item that I want to  delete.

     BR, lrlsk

     My solution is :

    ;; remove possible previously loaded menu
    (procedure RmBannerItemByName(l_menuName @optional (window_id window(1)))
     (if (length member( l_menuName hiGetBannerMenus(window_id)) )
      (hiDeleteBannerMenu window_id
       (difference
        (length hiGetBannerMenus(window_id) )
        (length  member(l_menuName  hiGetBannerMenus(window_id)))
        ))))

    RmBannerItemByName('trEdPulldownMenu)

    Does it work with you ?

    I did not check yet Adrews solution.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Ebecheto,

     Your solution should also work, It is almost similar to what I did (the Algo is exactly the same). Many thanks to you as well.

     cheers,  lrlsk
