 HI all,

          Iam trying a skill code to read all instance names in layout and name is printed as label.I got it but label is came at corner of device.For placing label at midle of device i need to know how we read xy coordinates of instance indepndntly.If anybody knows plz let me know.Below is my code.

 cv = geGetEditCellView()
foreach(inst cv~>instances
geSelectFig( inst )

  ab = inst~>name
points = inst~>xy
dbCreateLabel(cv list("text" "drawing") points ab "centerCenter" "R90" "roman" 1)
)

Thank You.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "get the xy coordinates of instance independently". The ~>xy attribute tells you the location where the origin of the instantiated cell has ended up. It's entirely dependent on where that that cell's origin is. If you want something that is in the centre of the device, you could use:

    point=centerBox(inst~>bBox)

    Regards,

    Andrew.
