using a skilll variable in linux environment

i know i can execute a linux command in CIW with sh function;
sh(".......")

but i cannot use a cadence variable in linux environment. For example i wanna write my libname and cellname in a text file.
Does anyone has any idea about that??

second question is, this sh function always works in the directory which cadence is invoked. Can we change the working directory??

Thanks
