make exact area of a layout instance

 Hi,

     I have a layout instance which have some excess area taken as instance.

When I do (ctrl+f) to view instance itdisplays the instance to be much bigger than the actual layout inside it.

I have set all layers valid & visible too to see if any thing is being unselectable , but the area is indeed empty.

My cadence version is IC 5.10.41

Any one know how to solve this issue ?

     Hi,

    I have found an alternative way of solving the problem.

    1. Select all shapes & instances & copy them to a backup cell.
    2. Delete the selected shapes from the original layout.
    3. Run following : foreach(a geGetEditCellVIew()~>shapes dbDeleteObject(a))
    4. Copy the layout back to original shape.
    Some times the code shared by the hyperlinked post, do not work. It is solved by the above method.
