i was just perusing through the manual and i was wandering what

1.  dbCreateRailDef

2.  dbCreatePlaceArea

3.  dbCreateCompTypeSetDef

 actually do, some programming examples would help

    I'm sorry, i dont understand the distinction between a macro and a function :). I was just going through the manual, and i was a bit curious about these functions. The explanations provided by the manual didn't help me much in understanding their true value.
