Adding Connectivity in Power Nets

Hi,

Need a script that can add connectivity property in all the power nets ( VDD,VSS,VDDB etc. ) in the cell layout. Inputs can be list of cells or a top level gds that contains multiple cells with multiple hierarchy.

Thanks

It's not a matter of setting the "connectivity property" - you'd need to extract the nets. Can you use VLS XL to do that? What are you actually hoping to achieve?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

You are correct. Using VLS XL will solve the problem. But the poin is current database is not VXL compliance and it will take considerable effort to clean up and make it VXL compatable. My current requirement is to find the top power and ground nets and fill via to hook up to the top level metal. My current via fill script is able to fill via where it finds a connectivity information, if it is missing it is not able to add. and now I have to add manually the conneectivity for the metals where it is missing. I want to avoid that . Hope you are clear about the situation.

    My Proposal :

    1. Use PVS/Calibre/Assura on the LVS clean database to get the connectivity information

    2. Pass that database to skill and add property in the net.

I am trying to write it. But just posted in the forum to avoid reinventing the same :)

    Regards,

    Debasis

    Hi Debasis,

It wouldn't necessarily need to be VXL compliant to extract connectivity from pins to devices. You can do that without even having a schematic - and even then you can extract the internal nets. The bit that's harder is getting cross-correspondence with the schematic, but I don't think you necessarily need that.

I don't have anything to do what you're asking for - but maybe somebody else will.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
