Is it possible to make a MPP without having to save it off as a template?

I have a script that auto generates a MPP template for coax shielding, based on simple user input from a GUI window.  The script then initiates the lxHiCreateMPP() command.  Each time the program is ran, it overwrites the previous template.

Is there a way to create the MPP directly without being forced to save the template each time?  If not, is there a way to automatically set the template instead of the user having to change it manually through the "Create Multipart Path" popup?

     Hi Michael,

You can create a multi-part path by calling the underlying rodCreatePath() function and supplying the appropriate arguments.  This may look a bit tricky to begin with, but if you save an existing template to a text file you can see how the arguments for rodCreatePath should be formulated, since the arguments to leDefineMPPTemplate() are very similar to those of rodCreatePath().  Take a look at Solution Article 11252132 for an example where this has been done and the code incorporated into a procedure that uses it.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
