 Hell0,

I am using  lxGenFromSource(dbOpenCellViewByType(libName cellName "symbol" "" "r") ?layLibName newLib ?layCellName newcell ?layViewName "layout") to convert symbol into layout but I am getting the following warning

*WARNING* (LX-2031): Cannot find the specified schematic cellview. The name or database IDyou specified either does not exist or does not point to a validschematic cellview. Specify a valid schematic cellview and try again.

but I have this Symbol view in my specified cellname , What could be the problem ?

Thanks

farhan

Following from what Ted said, and to answer your question, you cannot go directly from a symbol cellview to a layout cellview to my knowledge.  You could try opening the symbol and using Create -> Cellview -> From cellview to create a schematic cellview type; this will only have the pins in it - instances etc. will need to be added (otherwise your layout will only contain pins also). I'm not quite sure what you have, so look at Ted's response and mine to see if they help you.

    regards,

    Lawrence.
