How to get the minimum & maximum value of Device parameters ?

Hi,


I am writing a script to check the minimum & maximum value of the parameters of a device.

Ex:Consider a mos device.To get the minimum value of width of that particular mos i am doing as below.

cdfID = cdfGetInstCDF(mosID)

paramID_width = cdfFindParamByName(cdfID width)

minValue = paramID_width~>defValue

For most of the technology this value is equal to the minimum value,but for some it is failing.

Can you give a solution to get  minimum as well as maximum value of the parameter.

    Generally speaking, any minimum or maximum value of a parameter is checked by a CDF callback or similar - this is a bit of  SKILL code that runs when you change a parameter in a field. The limits may not be checked at all, or may be hardcoded into that function, or may be looked up from some properties stored somewhere.

    Put another way, there is no generic way to define what the minimum and maximum values of a parameter are, so you can't code a generic solution based on purely looking at the CDF parameters. Assuming that the default value is the minimum is definitely a wild assumption too!
