Generating bounded schematic from layout

Ron M

Hi,

Seomtimes, in RF design, we are starting from layout and would like to create a schematic based on it.

We would like to generate a schematic from layout-xl view and keep the binding (and in the future the connectivity) between the layout pcells and schematic instances (so, when we change the parameters in pcells we can update the schematic and vice versa).

I do see skill functions for maintaining binding between instances, however how do I mark the full schematic as connected to the layout view (I.e. generate the phyConf view)?

Thanks,

Ronen

    Hi Ronen,

I'm not sure you'd necessarily need to use the bnd functions - probably keeping the instance names the same and using lxSetConnRef to set the connectivity reference for the layout would be sufficient.

If you really need to you can use bndSetObjectsBinding (given the dbId of the schematic and layout instances) or bndSetInstsBindingByName (which uses the names of the instances) - but you'd have to do lxSetConnRef first. They're fairly straightforward to use from the documentation.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
