Export GDS and CDL using command prompt

HI,

1) I am using cadence version IC6.1.7-64b.500.7. I just need to know, how to streamout GDS and export CDL using command prompt (for example calibre can be executed by "calibre -drc -hier calibre.drc" directly in linux command prompt). From CIW window  File > Export > Stream/CDL will give the same, but I need to know how to do it from linux command prompt.  Please tell me how to do it.

2) Also is it possible to execute a skill code in CIW window using a perl script?

Regards
Anand

For stream out, the command line utility is 'strmout' You can either specify all of the options like lib/cell/view name, output file, mapping files, etc on the command line or use 'strmout -templateFile <filename>' to give the options in a template file. See the "Design Translation Using XStream Translator" section of the Design Data Translator's Reference manual. For GDS out, it is 'si -batch -command netlist' that you need. That will look for a 'si.env' file that has all the setup. See that same manual but the section on "Design Translation Using CDL Out". Half the battle sometimes is getting to the right manual!
