Create a combo field with layers?

I’d like a combo field like the one in the newest layout property editor’s LPP field. A combo field where there are cyclic options and you can type into it. But the hiCreateComboField only takes a list of text options, not icons. How can a user create a similar field?

You need to use hiCreateLayerCyclicField() - only drop of bitterness is you cannot type into it. Not sure whether there is any way to achieve this.

That is what I am currently using, but the ability to type in the layer name also is what I’m looking for. The list of valid layers is a bit too daunting.

The function that you need to use is leCreateLayerField. That's the function that provides the extended combo-box which allows typing in as well as selection via a drop-down list.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
