    Hi Marben,

The presence (or not) of an "SD swap" parameter on a device is a function of the PDK, not the tool version. It's completely dependent upon whether the foundry you're using have provided such an option.

There is (in VLS XL) the ability to do Connectivity->Pins->Permute to swap around the source and drain pins, provided that the component has been set up to mark the S and D pins as permutable - again, that is a function of the PDK (we need to know if it's legal for the pins to be permuted, as otherwise you could permute the gate with the drain, for example). The permute capability works with any device with an permuteRule on it, not just MOS devices.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

    You are right.

I am now using the Connectivity->Pins->Permute to swap around the source and drain pins.

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards,

    Marben

    Hi Olivier,

You normally do this by setting the permuteRule in the auLvs simulation information in the base CDF for the cell (the lib/cell for the pCell in question) to (p D S). Search in cdnshelp for "permuteRule" (or use the search box at the top of the help menus in Virtuoso to find this). One good place in the documentation that describes this is in the "Troubleshooting Layout XL Compliance".

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Olivier,

Do you know how to setup permutable of device. When I use connectivity-->permute to permute the S and D of device, the permute information shows "Cannot permute pin's' and pin'd' because the 'permuteRule' property on the instance disallows it ", thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Olivia
