using wildcard matching in net name equating

I'm doing a small widget where I have something like:

wirelist=selectedSet()

foreach(wire wirelist if(wire~>net~>name=="net*"

except instead of the net* - skill doesn't take the wildcard symbol (that I'm aware of)  I know I have to use a matching function

of some sort - how do I combine the first 3 characters "net" with the numbers which are assigned to internal net names

using some sort of regExp or regMatch function ?

using cadence 6.1.8

    You could use pcreMatchp(), so:

    foreach(wire wirelist if(pcreMatchp("^net\\d+$" wire~>net~>name)
