How to determine if there is a given layer in a specific area in layout

Hi all,

I would like to check if there is a given layer in a specific area in my layout. For example, check if there is any Metal 1 in the square area limited by (0;0) and (5;5).

I could not find yet a way to do that through SKILL, would you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rodrigo,

    The leSearchHierarchy()  function does that...here's an example:

    leSearchHierarchy( cv list( 0:0 5:5 ) 0 "any shape" list( list( "layer" "==" list( "poly1" "drawing" ) )))

    Max

    Alternatively you could use dbGetOverlaps() - this is a lower level function to do this - and you can then control the hierarchy depth to search for. If it was me, I'd use dbGetOverlaps or dbShapeQuery.

    Andrew.
