Context menu in schematic canvas

Kevin Earls
Kevin Earls over 3 years ago

I have created custom context menus and successfully added them to the context menus of the layout window. But  I can't get a custom context menu to show up in the schematic canvas. This only works in the navigator. There are no error messages generated at any time.

Anyone have a clue to why the menu doesn't show up in the schematic canvas?

mbUnregisterAction("mySchMenu")
mbRegisterCustomMenu("schematic" "mySchMenu" "t" "myMakeSchMenus()")
mbSetContextData("schematic" "mySchMenu" "Any" "Canvas Navigator" "Common")

    Answering the original question - please see the bottom part of How to create and add or insert a custom menu item in the RMB context sensitive (as per selected object) popup menu of layout and schematic? which explains that this currently doesn't work for the canvas with a schematic; it gives a possible workaround there though.

    Like the camera view context menu

    I don't know which tool you are talking about, but the only "Camera View" I'm aware of in Analyst (part of the AWR tools) - it's not in the Virtuoso Schematic Editor.

    Hi Andrew,

    Again Rachel Gomez answer is completely off-topic...

    It seems like an automated answer (or very weird human behavior)

    Just for the sake of it I typed the answer in Google and found the exact same response on another forum for a completely different software

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/motionbuilder/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/MotionBuilder/files/GUID-79831650-FD1E-40D2-97E9-172A77EF8E5C-htm.html

    Not sure if this is a bot and why such posts would appear on Cadence SKILL forum but this kind of answers are not helping at all here

    Cheers

    Hi Aurélien,

    Thanks for checking this. I'm usually on the look out for spam posts and deal with them when I can (often they contain links to irrelevant information - sometimes the link is there at the time of original posting and then gets removed, sometimes it gets edited in later). This sounded like somebody just getting mixed up with the tools, but maybe it's more devious than I thought!
