How to make shift+enter to create a new line instead of executing the command in CIW

Just a basic doubt. Can anyone tell me how to make shift+enter to create a new line instead of executing the command in CIW

On Options→User Preferences in the CIW, if you have Enter Key Executes Command checked, then Enter executes and Shift-Enter creates a new line. If it's unchecked, then the behaviour is the opposite way around. The default is to be checked (i.e. Enter executes the command) - maybe that's changed in your environment?

    Hi Andrew,
Even after checked the Enter Key Executes Command, I see shift-Enter still executing the command instead of creating new line.

My guess is that you have the Syntax Highlighting also unchecked. If you have that unchecked, then pressing Enter or Shift-Enter both execute the command regardless of the setting of Enter Key Executes Command. You can turn these back on (the default is on) in your .cdsinit by doing:

    envSetVal("ui" "ciwSyntaxHighlighting" 'boolean  t)
    envSetVal("ui" "ciwCmdExecuteOnEnter" 'boolean  t)

(you can check that worked by looking on the Options→User Preferences form to see whether both are checked).

Thanks Andrew. Enabling these 2 commands make shift+Enter Key to create new line and Enter key execute command.
