first encounter ECO flow

archive
archive over 20 years ago

I have an already taped out design that I want to do some logic changes to. I have to use sparecells as we only want to change metal masks. I restore the design, generate an eco file, specify spare cells and use loadECO with the -useSpareCells switch to read in the changes.

From the documentation I would expect the fe to use the sparecells for the change (so far just inserting an inverter). This does not happen.

Suggestions appreciated

It was an INSERTBUFFER instead of ADDINST.
    Now it works.

    Thanks
