Finding all the Cells in a Design

I've started using SOC Encounter recently and I'm still not clear about a good many things. But here's my first question. I need to identify all the flip-flops in the design and detach a certain pin from the net connected to it. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to traverse through the design so I don't leave out any flip-flops. I want to start from the topcell. Any suggestions? Thanks Vaishnavi

  • Great question.  You *could* accomplish this with CTE-TCL commands like all_registers, but I'd suggest dbGet as an easier approach.

    If you wanted to detach the net from all the SE pins from the sequentials, you could do it as follows:

    foreach inst [dbGet -p2 top.insts.cell.isSequential 1] {
      set instName [dbGet $inst.name]
      detachTerm $instName SE
    }
