No metal2 antenna info in Lef file from Abstract Generator

Hi,

I generated a lef file using Abstract Generator. One of the pin of macro is on metal3 and the net connected to it has small amt. of metal2 routing. The tool is dumping antenna info of metal3 but not of metal2.

I looked for other pins which has routes in other layers, the antenna infomration is dumped out properly for them.

The issue is only with metal2. The technology lef that I m using as a input to tool has all the antenna parameters defined  for layer metal2.

What could be the possible reasons for it?

    Hi Viahsali,

    Only the metal that is on the same layer or above as the pin layer are needed to model the process antenna effects for a block. This is because when you calculate the process antenna effects for metal2 there will not be a connection into the block because metal3 has not been processed yet, so any metal2 inside the block will not have an effect outside the block.
