Adding of multicut vias if block is not on placement grid

I am working on a design implemented using  hierarchical flow. After impolementing the block while doing the assemble design one of the blocks is not on placement grid. I have done the assemble design and now want to just do the via optmization using the "routeDesign -viaopt" option. I see that the command is not able to do a good job as it leaves all the vias unchanged. Can anyone tell me is there a way to just do a replacement of single vias with multicut vias in such a scenario.

If i try doing the via optmization at the block level it is doing the job. But now the same does not happen after assemble design.  Is there are way to do this in the final stage of the design

Make sure you have the right setNanoRouteMode settings. See the documentation for the routeDesign -viaOpt command, but here are some examples:

To run postroute single-cut via to multiple-cut via swap, type the following commands:

    setNanoRouteMode -drouteMinSlackForWireOptimization slack
    setNanoRouteMode -droutePostRouteSwapVia multiCut
    routeDesign -viaOpt

To run non-timing-driven postroute single-cut via to multiple-cut via swap, type the following commands:

    setNanoRouteMode -routeWithTimingDriven false
    setNanoRouteMode -droutePostRouteSwapVia multiCut
    routeDesign -viaOpt
