Incorrect Fractional Cell Error

Hello,

checkPlace is reporting an error about fractional cells this is preventing filler cells from being placed correctly.

I have exaimined the macro lef and the tech lef, measured the cell on screen, and the cell should not be a fractional cell.  Additionally, the gift script  userRptFractionCell.tcl does not find any fractional cells.  I have even tried editing the macro lef so it is a multiple of the core site, M1, and M2 pitches but the error persists.

Does anybody have any ideas what could possibly be causing this error?

     Dan,

It sounds like you've checked all the usual suspects. Are there maybe cells in your lef file that you aren't using in your design, that have a height not a multiple of the cells you are using? How many sites are you defining in the tech lef? Maybe make sure you're only defining the ones you actually use. You mention editing the macro lef, do you mean the lef of a specific macro, or the lef of your std cells? The reason I ask is that the size of your std cells should have already been a multiple of the core site.
