About the OVERLAP layer in LEF, how can I get its boxes in FE

Are you dealing with a hierarchical design ?
Your overlap Layer represent rectilinear partition ?

To print the cutout rectangle for a partition (before commit) you can try the following script:

Thanks!! My design is not hierarchical design. You code is to get all the partition cuts of a design, it is useful for a self-defined rectilinear shape block. But my scenario is that I have a HARD macro imported from a LEF file. I want to get OVERLAP layer box which is similar to a partition cut layer box.

In $ENCOUNTER/tools/fe/gift/scripts/tcl, there is a script called "user_scripts.tcl" that contains a proc called "userGetInstOverlap" that I believe does what you're seeking to do. Could you have a look at that and report back whether it does what you need?

I cannot find the script 'user_scripts.tcl' under the specified path. I can find a lot of other tcls except this one......My SOCE is SOC52USR2. Can you upload the script.

I find the tcl in the SOC61 update tar file. It is what I want. We just cannot get the OVERLAP layer at the top cell level, but at the hierarchical inst level. The script is amazing!!
