filler cell addition

Do i need to put filler cells in the halos and placement blockage of my hardmacros also. In my design, I have placed placement blockages for standard cells.So now when adding filler cells, should i remove the placement blockage? Please explain me with reason.

  • Filler cells layout "I mean the GDS" contains Well and Implant layers at the least. These provide well continuity.

    Hence, depending upon your sign-off rule requirements you may have to delete these placement blockages and add filler cells.
