Problems creating virtual operating conditions in MMMC

Hi,

I'm working with Encounter v6.2 and using the Multi Mode Multi Corner feature.

I've followed the steps to create the different analysis views. I need to create virtual operating conditions.

So, first I've created the library_set without any problem:

create_library_set -name D_CELLSL_set -timing [list D_CELLSL.lib]

And as it is said in the documentation, I've tried to create the virtual operating condition:

create_op_cond -name BC_CUSTOM -library_file D_CELLSL_set.lib -P 0.55 -V 1.25 -T -20

However, Encounter gives me an error which says that the file  D_CELLSL_set.lib can not be openned (obviously it does not exist).

If I do,

create_op_cond -name BC_CUSTOM -library_file D_CELLSL.lib -P 0.55 -V 1.25 -T -20

, the virtual operating condition is created correctly, but I don't know if it is ok because the Cadence examples associate the virtual operating condition with the library set created previously, not with the library.

Other question I have is if I have to use setOpCond in MMMC in order to optimize the design for a specific operating condition or it is enough activating the corresponding analysis view with set_analysis_view.

Best regards,

Ainhoa

     Hi Ainhoa,

The library does need to exist. The idea of the virtual op cond is that you create these conditions without modifying the existing library. You need to then use create_delay_corner to define a corner that uses your newly created op cond. The delay corner is then reference when you use create_analysis_view. You can't use setOptCond with MMMC. This is stated in the documentation.
