Hello,

Is there any tool or script to translate from TF (Virtuoso) to tech LEF format? It looks that both of them have the similar data, but we need the LEF for encounter P&R.

 Thanks,
Boris

     hello Boris,

Have you tried to export LEF with tehcnology info from Virtuoso ?

If you are on Virtuoso 6.1.2 and newer and 8.1 and newer why not using Open Access capabilties to exchange such data.

     Thanks,

    Alex

    Hello Alex,

Thank you very much for your help. I will try to export LEF from Virtuoso. Is there any particular instructions?

What do you mean by "Open Access Capabilities"? Does it mean I could load TF as is into Encounter?

    Thank you,

    Boris

     hello Boris,

If you are in Virtruoso 6.1 or newer you need to CIW -> Export -> LEF and to turn ON the siwtch "Output Technology Information Only".

Encounter 8.1 or newer is able to read teh Virtuoso techfile and to work with, of course if the technology file is correctly set (LEFdefaultRouteSpec constraint should be there).

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hello Alex,

I need to know what do you mean by 'if the technology file is correctly set'?

I have a .tf file that came from the foundry and I want to do P&R on certain blocks, is this file useful? Or do I need a tech.lef file for this?

Or is there a way to convert .tf file to .lef file?
