An Encounter error of supporting POLYGON with 45 degree edges

 Hi all,

I got a lot of errors when reading Bond pad Lef information in Encounter. It happened during special routing.All these errors are relative to supporting POLYGON with 45 degree edges. I am using Encounter 7.1.

Reading LEF technology info...

  *ERROR* "/home/cadence/TSMC/IO_lib/tpbn90nv_130a/tpbn90nv_130a_sefp9/TSMCHOME/digital/Back_End/lef/tpbn90nv_130a/cup/9lm/9M_6X2Y/lef/tpbn90nv_9lm.lef", line 59: VERSION must be 5.6 or higher to support POLYGON with 45 degree edges at or near "4.780"

In bond pad lef file, line 59:

POLYGON  53.000 70.220 51.220 72.000 51.220 3.000 53.000 4.780 ;

 Ang help. Thanks in advanced

     You could try adding the version statement to the bond pad lef, if you didn't want to change the stdcell lef.

    This shouldn't hurt anything. Everything in LEF 5.5 is still valid in LEF 5.6. But the bond pad LEF was using POLYGON, which is a LEF 5.6 thing, like the error message said.
