noise libraries

Hi All,

When I use Encounter to run PnR, I got a warning: WARN: (SOCOPT-393):    No noise libraries specified, timing libraries will be used for noise analysis. Accuracy may not be optimal because no noise libraries have been loaded.

So I changed the timing libraries to ones which include CCS noise drive model. But I got some errors below during design import.

Reading min timing library '/home/cadence/TSMC/tcbn90lphphvt_150i/TSMCHOME/digital/Front_End/timing_power_noise/CCS/tcbn90lphphvt_150h/tcbn90lphphvtbc_ccs.lib' ...
**ERROR: (TECHLIB-9125):    Misssing axis name/index in template definition "ccsn_dc". Exiting
**ERROR: (TECHLIB-281):    Attempt to read .lib library '/home/cadence/TSMC/tcbn90lphphvt_150i/TSMCHOME/digital/Front_End/timing_power_noise/CCS/tcbn90lphphvt_150h/tcbn90lphphvtbc_ccs.lib' failed

Thanks in advanced

The noise libraries that Encounter is looking for are the .cdB files. Sometimes the library vendor provides these, and sometimes you have to create them. But as the warning states, if you don't have them, the .lib files will be used for noise analysis. It may not be as accurate as using .cdB files, but it should be pretty close at least for std cells. Check to see if your library vendor provides .cdB files, then include them in the .conf file used to load the design in Encounter. These are in addition to the timing .lib files.
