Generating StreamOut map file

hi could anyone pls clarify my doubt.... for my design i doesn't have stream out map file, then i tried using default one gen. by SOCE. the gds was exported without any errors or warnings.. but i couldn't able to see all the layers while i import this gds into Virtuoso! is there any problem while we use tool gen map file? what is the difference? could anybody suggest me how to construct streamout map file w.r.t to tech.? Sorry guys... maybe it's unrelated topic. Anyone know how to view a GDS file without having to stream-in? And how about comparing (XOR) 2 GDS files to see any changes?
