Finding diverging point for fixing hold violations

 Hi all,

Can someone give me a breif idea in writing a script for finding the diverging Net for a given endpint and Beginpoint , so that i can add a buffer on this net so that hold is fixed on this path and setup is not disturbed

Regards

optDesign -hold should automatically repair hold violations without disturbing setup timing, but if you wanted to write you own script you might try timing the design in setup, tagging the nets with negative (or close to negative slack) and then finding the nets along the path that aren't setup-critical.

To script this up, you might find the techniques discussed in this blog post useful:

    Hope this helps,
    Bob
