Encounter crash during streamout

Hi,

I have encountered a problem while streaming out GDS file using the following command:

streamout myfile.gds -mapfile gds2OutLayer_6lm_2thick.map -merge ibm13rfvt.gds2

If I do not include mapfile during streamout, Encounter would not crash. But the final GDS file is incorrect when opened in Virtuoso.

I have edit the mapfile. Before edit, error messages given is incorrect map for each line in the map file. I have check the format of the mapfile and change accordingly. Before edit, the first line in map file looks like:

A NW 4 0 ; N-well Converts NW to GDS2 layer 4

after edit, the first line in map file looks like:

NW ALL 4 0 # N-well Converts NW to GDS2 layer 4

I doubt something is wrong with the map file. Please advice.

Thank You.

     Hi,

I don't think you're using the right map file. The gds map file you use in Virtuoso is not the same one you use in Encounter. Please see the Encounter User Guide chapter on Importing and Exporting Designs. Look for the section called "About the GDSII Stream or OASIS Map File".

That's great! I know it can get confusing with the various different mapping files between tools. I'm glad you're up and running again now.
