macro placement

Hi,

While floorplanning, how will I fix the space between two macros communicating each other. I have read somewhere that I should give sufficient space between the macros so that there won't be any issues for the router to route the nets. Is there any formula or rule of thumb for fixing the space between the macros.

After you do a quick floorplan, placement, and trialRoute, you can see how many nets you have in the space between your macros. This will help you figure out if you need more space or not. Floorplanning can be an iterative process - you can use planDesign to help.
