Inserting diode in fixing antenna

Hi,

Is it possible to set encounter to insert diode on every gate which goes to a specific metal layer?

The technology I am using requires tie down on every gate before going to upper 3 metal layers (an antenna rule) and It seems it is not reflected in the LEF file.

Thanks in advance.

     why do you want to do this? there may be a better way to achieve your end goal.

    Hi Kari,

    Thanks for your reply.

    As I said, it is a process antenna rule from foundry which requires tie down (not layer changing) on every gate connected to MQ (metal 4) and MG (metal5) layers.

    I would appreciate if you could suggest any solution.

    regards,

    Mahmood

    The way I'd go about it is finding a unique list of nets with wire segments on these layers:
    dbGet -u -p2 top.nets.wires.layer {.name == "MQ" || .name == "MG"}

    Then, iterate through each net and use "addInst -physical" and "attachTerm" to place the desired diode cell near each input term.

    It wouldn't hurt to file an enhancement request through your support applications engineer or on support.cadence.com to push for/see if there's productized functionality that does this which I may not be aware of straight away.

    Hope this helps,
    Bob
