Unused Reset Buffers

Johann Glaser
Johann Glaser over 14 years ago

Hi!

In my design, the reset signal is buffered automatically by First Encounter v08.10-s273_1 with several buffers and inverters. Interestingly, all D-FF are still supplied with the original Reset_n_s signal instead of the buffered signals. The buffers are all placed at a corner of the core (near the Reset_n_i pad). The output of these buffers are unused.

What could have gone wrong here?

Thanks

  Hansi

It's hard to tell without more information. Does the netlist before/after look as you'd expect? Did the Encounter run finish completely? Were there any warnings or errors in the log file?
